Save The Chimps

Pick something, whatever it is, and get involved.
You can make a difference.
Each Spring I look forward to hitting garage sales, so I can buy stuff animals for the chimps.
This is just one donation I make to Save The Chimps.org each year.

So Beautiful ... Inside & Out

As people love to scrap about their children, I love to scrap about my puppy.  Growing up, we had a dog and though I loved him he remained outdoors and was never truly part of our everyday lives.  We took good care of him but rarely took him anywhere, he was kinda just there.  When Kenny and I made the vow, "if we have a dog he must be a house dog" I was leary.  My first thought was "Oh my gosh, what will mom think?"  I grew up thinking animals did not belong in the house.  Having a dog  in our home and having him actually be like a member of the family has been one of our best decisions ever.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

Embracing our differences

In some ways, Kenny and I are so different.  I love quiet time.  I need it to re-energize.  Kenny on the other hand,  would prefer to be around others and needs it to release his energies.  I have often heard him say "it is lonely at work when you work by yourself" but to me this sounds like a dream job.  This is when I can do my best thinking.  Since he does work alone and often gets bored, I am always getting these silly photos via text.

Boatless at Brookville

For years we have always had a boat and most summer weekends you could find us at Brookville Lake.  After much consideration, we decided to sell the boat and focus more on camping and site seeing.  This particular weekend we had already planned on going to Brookville, so we kept our plans and decided to do Brookville "Boatless".  This picture says it all.  Both boys were really missing being on the water.

This is Soooo Jackson

When I seen this comic, I knew I had to scrapbook it. This is soooo Jackson. He hates to be alone and he's trained us well because we hate to leave him alone.

Hummingbird

I still get so emotional when I scrapbook about my mom.  I miss her so much, that is why these stories must be told.

A Quick Layout

This layout was inspired by Tracie over at the Scrap Gals community. She challenged us to cut strips of paper and use them to make a mat to lay behind the photo.   I really like the looks of this and it was a  quick layout.

Return to Me

I believe it was the Paperclipping Roundtable  podcast that mentioned to do a layout about your favorite movie. Return to Me has been my favorite movie for a very long time. This was a fun layout to do.

Michael "Jackson"

This is one of my favorite layouts.  I felt I had to tell the story behind naming Jackson.

Happily Ever After

First layout of 2015. Feels so good to scrap again, it's been a while.

Runway Model

When I decided to scrap this picture, I looked through my stash and found this patterned paper, it could not have worked more perfect.  I love how the boca lighting in the picture matches the patterned paper.

Strength in Numbers

These three beautiful ladies pick me up when I am down. They've helped me through some very difficult life events. Thank you. I love you.

One of my favorites

I love everything about this layout. I dearly love this photo of Jackson wanting to play with the kids.  The over-sized photo, along with the colors I used, makes it one of my favorite layouts ever.

Three Easter Layouts

I love my three Easter layouts because they each have a story:

Smile
The first time I hosted Easter dinner my mom brought me this little bunny which I adore.  Now that mom has passed, I place this lil guy right in the middle of our Easter dinner table and it makes me smile.
I

crazykids
I set up tables in the basement so the kids could eat down there and "hangout".  The next day these pictures show up on Facebook.

Robin Eggs
Though I'm not a big fan of the candy itself, each year I buy a bag just for the memories.  As a teen, I would dampen these candies with water and use them as face paint on the kids.  As adults, they still talk about this memory.

Time

I have always love the song "Don't Blink" by Kenny Chesney.  The lyric "a hundred years goes faster than you think" has always made me stop and think for a minute.  When I recently realized, there is 100 years between the year that my grandmother was born and the year that my mom passed away I knew I wanted to do a layout using these lyrics.  Here is that layout, I love how it turned out.

Waterdog

Here is my most recent layout. Waterdog is about my dog and his two best friends. On land, these 3 dogs just love each other but in the water it is every dog for himself. The black lab (Zeno, the youngest) is fairly new to swimming. He still struggles a bit and therefore rarely retrieves the ball but is not opposed to trying to drown the other two to get the ball from them. He tries to get on their back for a free ride back to the bank.

Supplies:
Cricut Cartridge Paper Pups - "Waterdog"
We R Memory Keepers Lucky 8 Punch - Retro Scallop

Mom

When I woke up this morning I could envision this page in my head, so I immediately sat down and got it done.  Before this page, I could never understand why any scraper would hide their journaling, now I get it.  There are just some things that you need to say but don't have to be for every one's eyes.  I like that I was able to just pull from my stash and did not go and buy anything specifically for this page.

Supplies:
Bo Bunny "Sophie" two-sided card stock
Bazzill - In Stitch's
Martha Stewart - Doily Lace

I Scream, You Scream .......

Here is a fun layout I did using the Stone Scripts and Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridges.  I love doing two page layouts.  This is my niece, my nephew and my puppy enjoying their ice scream while camping at the Mohican State Park in Loundonville, Ohio.
