New Printer

Well today I broke down and bought a new printer.  I dream about being able to scan, print and journal on 12 x 12 pages.  I bought an Epson Workforce WF 7620.  It got excellent reviews on Amazon so I'm hoping I made the right choice.  This said, I have been messing around with it all morning and have had several issue.  I'm sure most of them are the learning curve of using a new printer with the software I choose.  However, one issue that I continue to have is every time I print something my system locks up and I have to do a control, alt, delete to get out of the program.  I guess I'll be spending tomorrow morning with online help and seeing if this can be resolved.  If not, it will be going back to Staples.

Crafted all Day (x2)

Wow, what a great crafting weekend.  It started on Friday with me having a couple of hours to work on my blog. After having my blog for years, it is finally something I am proud of and can't wait to share with others.  On Saturday, my lifelong friend and I went out for lunch then to JoAnns, Micheals and Hobby Lobby. We talked about what we're working on and what future project we had planned. Strangely we do not share any of the same crafting interest. She likes to sew, crochet, cross stitch, knit and make tie blankets where I like scrappbooking, card making, and altering things. Her purchases consisted of fabric swatches and yarn, mine consisted of acrylic stamps, 6x6 paper pads and the Martha Stewart 1/2 size score board.

After our day out, I completed 2 lessons of my Kit and Clowder Copic coloring class and spent another hour practicing.  On Sunday, I pulled out my Project Life album that I had not touched in a year. Thanks to Traci Claiborne, from The Scrap Gals, I now know how to print on the 3x4 PL journaling cards, which is exactly what was holding me back from returning to the whole PL process. I plan on returning to Project Life but strictly as a travel album, not my everyday scrapbooking.

This weekend I'm working on my blog. I want to make it prettier and really get into the habit of blogging more regularly.

I want to do this more!

I had always wanted a blog, why? I'm not sure.  I am not a very social person and I consider myself an extreme intervert. This is not something I am proud of nor enjoy.  I tend to get anxiety in social situations. The other females in my family are all very social and I envy them.  I constantly tell myself that talking to people should not be this difficult but for me it is.  When I do put myself in social situations, I'm so nervous I flub up words and embarrasses myself.  It's like I can't even talk. Then I spend the rest of the day rethinking my conversations with people and thinking what a fool I made of myself.  The fact that my husband and I chose not to have children only enhances this issue. I am not required to interact with teachers, other parents or get involved in any way.  In a small way, this also adds tension to my marriage as well.  My husband is clearly more social than I am and enjoys going to office parties, reunions and such.  Unless I am going to know everyone there, I don't want to go.  At times,  I feel so isolated.  I am fine entertaining in my home but everywhere else I am so awkward.  The strange part is I don't think anyone close to me even realizes this.  I have the big house, I always entertain and they love it but it's because I'm in my home and I know who I'm inviting.  I'm not sure why I just spilled all this out because I've never told anyone.  I guess because it made me feel better and helps me realize why I wanted a blog.  I  DO want to talk to people and I figure if I can t do it in person I can do it on a blog.  The problem is that I don't know how to get any followers.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday and I got the most awesome gift from my hubby.  He gifted me "The Phone Photography Project" class from Big Picture Classes.  He really does pay attention when I talk out loud while he is playing Call Of Duty.  Gotta love this man.

I can't believe how long it has been since I've posted here!
I originally set up this blog as a New 52 project and I was so excited when I did.  I started out using it to post my layouts of scrapbooking challenges but I have since stopped doing them when I determined they weren't my thing.  I still scrapbook but recently have been interested in trying out some new crafts. I purchased an old trunk from a garage sale for $10.00 and tried my hand at restoring it.  I must say for my 1st attempt it turned out pretty awesome. (photos to come).  Today I spent the day making my 1st Tim Holtz Configuration Box and OMG I love it. Making the box was both fun and emotional.  I used only trinkets that I could directly tie back to a memory of my mom or grandmother.  I couldn't be happier with it.  I know this is just the 1st of many I will be making.

Re-organizing tips!

Well my craft room is almost put back together.  I have always been a very organized person but sometimes things still need changed up a bit.  As you can see from a previous post, my DH recently bought me a pink Craftmans tool chest and this is what prompted the re-organizing.  Needless to say this thing holds tons.  I used one drawer for stamps, one for punches, one for mini book supplies, one for brads, one for tools, one for newly purchased supplies and one for projects in process.  This puts all my most used supplies right at my fingertips.  Another thing I used were those little decorative containers that the air freshner beads come in.  I used these for things like brads, Prima flowers and other embellishments.  Also I have been saving those plastic covers with zippers that pillowcases come in and these are great for ribbon.  I love the feel of my new crafting area and feel that I could put my had on anything I own with very little effort.

Been MIA but now I am back!

Hello, I have not posted anything in quite some time because I was on vacation and when I came back I was in downsizing and organization mode.  I decided I have too much stuff and I'm having a garage sale.  Now let me set things straight I DO NOT have too much scrapbooking stuff just everything else.  I'm downsizing the "other stuff" (probably to make room for more scrapbooking stuff) and re-organizing the scrapbooking stuff.  I will be sharing a few of my re-organization tips here.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

I am happy to say that we do not have any big plans this holiday weekend. I just love staying home sometimes. My hubby is on call the whole weekend so I am really hoping to get some scrapping done. I have a couple of challenges I want to participant in and I would like some time to work on my Puerto Rico album. I am hoping for a scrap happy weekend.

My blog is coming along!

So today I spent some time getting my blog fixed up a little bit.  I added labels, enablers, and my favorite podcast.  I really would like to do more with my title and cutesy it up a bit more but I am still having a little trouble figuring all that out. I am just so glad to say "I have a blog".

New Start!

I'm starting over...... After working on this blog for a week and trying to get it looking descent I am so frustrated I have thought about deleting it all together. I don't think I am trying to do anything too difficult but there is no help available. I have deleted several things and am just starting over. We shall see how that goes.
